Recruiting DHH Creators to an Interview about Accessible Video Content Creation

Our research team seeks to understand DHH creators' experience and challenges in recording and editing short-form videos on apps like TikTok, Instagram, and Capcut. Ultimately, we aim to design novel tools that makes the video recording and editing process more accessible for DHH people. We are recruiting DHH people who are:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Use short-form video recording and editing apps like Instagram, TikTok, InShot, and CapCut etc. often (e.g., a few times a month)

During the study, we will ask you about your experience recording and editing video content, the challenges you faced, and design recommendations for the future of video content creation platforms.

The interview will be conducted online through Zoom or in-person on the University of Michigan campus. We will compensate you $30/hour upon the completion the study. If you choose to withdraw during the study, you will still be compensated. ASL interpreters and/or real-time captioners can be provided on request.

If you are interested in participating, please email us (video-creation@umich.edu) with the following information:

  • Your identity (Deaf, deaf, or hard of hearing)
  • Two or three possible days/times to meet. We are availble any day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday.
  • Any required acommodations (e.g., ASL interpreter, realtime captioner)

Sincerely,
Jeremy Huang
